THEORY OF PHOTOELECTRIC EFFECT

i) The photoelectrons will possess +ve KE and hence will be ejected from the surface of the metal only if the frequency of incident radiation is greater than the threshold frequency.

ii) The photoelectrons will come out of the metal surface with greater KE, if the frequency of incident radiation is increased.

iii) When the intensity of incident radiation is increased, the number of ejected photoelectrons will also increase. It is because photoelectric effect is a one-photon one-electron phenomenon.
